Open Call to all artists

To celebrate the 80th anniversary of the Danish Textile Guild – weaving, printing and embroidery, a juried exhibition of mini textiles entitled miniTEX’26 will be hosted by the guild and Gallery Valdal, Valby/Copenhagen on April 30 – May 23, 2026.

We encourage all artists to submit works for jury selection.

Format: max. 20×20(×20) cm
The works must be in the format max. 20×20 cm and must not be framed or behind glass.
There must be a functional hanger on the back of the two-dimensional works.
Three-dimensional works must be max. 20×20×20 cm incl. any plinth.
So, the works can be smaller but not bigger tha
n 20×20(×20) cm.

Materials and technique
The works must be “textile”, while the choice of technique and materials is free.

Digital jury selection
The works will be selected by a jury after submission of digital images of the works.
The jury selection will take place in week 8, 2026. All applicants will be informed of the result by email.


Registration and participation fee

Registration and payment deadline:
February 2, 2026

Registration for jury selection is done via email to minitex26@gmail.com
Applicants must include the following information in the email:
artist’s name, telephone number and email address, the title, material/technique, year and selling price of the submitted works.

Photos of the works must be attached as external files in good quality in JPG, PNG or PDF.
The fee for registration for jury selection for international applicants is DKK 300 (non-refundable) for up to three art works.

International registration fee DKK 300,- must be paid AT THE SAME TIME AS submitting photos for jury selection. Please clearly state your name when making the payment.

Artists whose works are not accepted will not receive a refund of their registration fee.


 

Submission of accepted works
Accepted art works can be submitted personally to Galleri Valdal or sent. Any shipping costs are paid by the artist/applicant. Further information will be provided in the reply email if your works are accepted.
NOTE: Works that do not meet the criteria for size, hanging system etc. will not be accepted. If the jury assesses that the submitted works do not correspond to the submitted digital photos, the works may be rejected.

Image use
By participating, you grant the Danish Textile Guild – weaving, printing and embroidery and Galleri Valdal permission to use the submitted photos and any new photographs of your works free of charge in PR contexts in connection with the exhibition, as well as on the guild’s and the gallery’s websites, social media, newsletters, catalogue and member magazines.
Please provide the photographer’s name if you did not take the photographs yourself.

Collection of the works – no later than May 30, 2026
The exhibited works can be collected personally from Galleri Valdal when the exhibition is over. If the works must be returned by mail, any return shipping costs are paid by the artist.

Insurance
The works are insured by Galleri Valdal as long as they are exhibited/stored at Galleri Valdal. Insurance during shipping, delivery and collection is the sender’s own responsibility.

Sale of works at the exhibition
When selling from the exhibition, a commission of 30% of the sales price is paid to Galleri Valdal. Payment to the artist for sales takes place immediately after the end of the exhibition.

Jury members
The jury consists of embroiderer, author and Master of Arts (Education) in Needlework Bettina Andersen; textile artist Dorte Østergaard Jakobsen; weaver and visual artist Gina Hedegaard Nielsen and textile designer and Master of Arts in Art History Lisbeth Tolstrup. The layout of the exhibition and the hanging of the works are carried out by Galleri Valdal in cooperation with the jury.
